While it is not a cure for HIV, the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ARV drugs<\/span> reduce the HIV spread within the body and anyone living with HIV may live a long and healthy life as long as they take the medicine as prescribed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_are_the_benefits_of_taking_ARV_drugs\"><\/span>What are the benefits of taking ARV drugs?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br>ARV drugs do not kill the virus. However, they will block the life cycle of HIV and stop them from duplicating copies of the virus. Continuing ARV treatment will decrease the number of HIV copies within the body to a level that it is considered <strong>undetectable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When a person who is living with HIV achieves <strong>undetectable status<\/strong>, they will guarantee their health and it will prevent them from infecting their partners even without the use of condoms. I\u2019ve never felt any sort of discrimination from them even though I am living with HIV,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While ARV drugs are only free for Thai people and expats with work permits, foreigners who do not have work permits can still buy <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">HIV medicine in Thailand<\/span> and the prices are reasonable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Ahmad, who visited Chiang Mai to receive treatment for his drug addiction at a rehab center, said that he never had a problem in obtaining ARV drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo trouble at all.
